Becky obligingly wore an outfit to match the violet goodness of an Aviation for an impromptu cocktail party on the back deck.
Gentle readers, I'm afraid you have been led astray in thinking that the deck was completed. Over the past couple of weeks, we have been spending weekends adding the finishing touches to pass our permit inspection.

After several years and more than a few dollars to the city of Oakland, we finally passed the inspection. Oh joyous day in the neighborhood. In order to celebrate our new found Oakland Seal of Approval...we hosted Oscar's Cuatro de Mayo Birthday Party.
This cute little bundle of cuteness is ready to get a whoopin'.
Broken, beaten and wrecked...not just the guests, but the Pinata as well. Tamarind candy for everybody.
The party was a big success and a good time was had by all.
The weather has turned warm and the bikes have come out of the garage. Our first trip? Down to Lake Merritt and back, a mere 6.2 miles but with the huffing and puffing and wheezing going on, one would've thought we had plopped a couple of tea pots onto a push bike.
Rusty and his new bike!
Yosiell and his Fixie. One whole speed.
6.2 miles seems a short distance but my posterior end suffered greatly on every mile. The Bay Area in the spring begs for getting outdoors and breathing fresh air. I just purchased a bike rack for the car so expect to see more photos of beautiful biking adventures. Have no fear gentle readers, spring is short lived in the Bay Area and the summer fog will rush in soon to put a damper on the outdoor festivities. But not before more biking fun.
Our latest sojourn was down to the BART and across the bay to ride around SF. The day was absolutely gorgeous with a slight breeze. We stopped at a restaurant on Pier 23 for some Bloody Mary's and seafood before making the long trek home.
The view from our table did not suck! Just Rusty and myself this time as our intrepid fellow biker Yosiell opted to spend his weekend in San Diego at a wedding.
Yosiell getting ready for the wedding. I'd buy a used car from him.
In my last post, I shared the new tattoo on my back. Yosiell isolated the tattoo and punched up the color using photoshop. I thought I'd share it with you, my most intimate friends.
Well gentle readers, next weekend is Memorial Day weekend, I'm hoping the weather remains as beautiful as it has been in the past few weeks. A stay-cation may be in order...some bike riding, delicious cocktails, and some restaurant hopping perhaps. Good times people, good times!
